Factory reset Samsung via Settings






Here are the steps to factory reset a Samsung device through the settings menu on the device:



Open the list of applications (Apps) on your Samsung phone.

  • Go to Settings (Settings).
  • Click General Administration Options.
  • Click on the Reset option.
  • Select the factory data to reset option.
  • Click Reset Options or Reset Device Options.
  • Click Remove All and wait for your device's software screen to appear.
  • Go to the wipe data/factory reset option by pressing the volume down key on your device.
  • Press the power button on your device.
  • Use the Volume Down key to select Yes then press the Power key again.
  • Press the power key to select the restart system option.

  • Shut down the Samsung device for which you want to make software.
  • Press and hold the volume up power and home buttons at the same time.
  • When the device vibrates release the pressure on the power button.
  • When the menu appears on the device screen release the pressure on the remaining buttons.
  • Use the volume down key to access the delete all user data option.
  • Press the Power key.
  • Use the power key to navigate to Yes - Delete All User Data and select it.
  • Choose the reboot option.


Factory reset Samsung remotely



The Find My Phone application can be used to factory reset a Samsung device and remotely wipe all data on it by following these steps:


  • Go to the Find My Device webpage and click the electronic link here to access this page.
  • Sign in to this page with your Google Account.
  • Click the "Enable Lock and Wipe" option.
  • Click on the "Erase" option.

Note: Using this app requires the device to be powered on signed in with a Google account and GPS enabled.


How to take a backup on a Samsung device

  • Open an application (app) on the Samsung home screen.
  • Open the Samsung phone settings menu and click on the "Settings" option.
  • Click on the (Cloud & Accounts) option and then select the (Backup & Restore) option.
  • Select the (Back Up My Data) option that appears in the (Google Account) list.
  • Click the (Off) button to switch to (On) to start backing up Samsung phone data.
